FunWagon: The Bay Mini-Van & Surf Tandem King
As a mother of four, I understand the importance of spending quality time with our kids—especially in ways that keep us active. Being out on the bay or ocean has been our go-to for family fun, but finding the right board that accommodates both beginners and more experienced surfers, while being big enough to cruise on the bay AND easy for me to carry, has its challenges. That's why I’m so excited to introduce you to the FunWagon—our 10-foot board from Legion of Fun.
The FunWagon is Perfect for Families!
Whether you’re just starting out prone paddling or you're ready to get on some waves with them, the FunWagon has something for everyone. With 4 kids ranging from 5 to 18, I need a board that can do it all, and this one makes it fun and easy.
Here’s what makes the FunWagon perfect for our family (and here's a secret - I'm not a great longboarder - I just like trying new things and being out with my kids and husband).
Size & Stability: At 10 feet long, this board is the perfect size for anyone who needs stability (me). Its width and volume provide a solid platform, making it easier for the family to catch waves and stay balanced while learning together. On a paddle, I can fit 2 kids on the front and prefer the workout I get while prone paddling (as opposed to stand up, but that's fun too and we've got some in the works).
Foamie: Safety is our top priority when we’re out on the water and as we all know, a foam board is much less scary than a fiberglass board in terms of taking one on the head. Foamies are great for all skill levels and even more advanced surfers love the lessened risk and lower price point.
Durability: As a mom, I need products that can keep up with our active lifestyle and don't require a ton of upkeep. The FunWagon has a durable construction that can withstand the wear and tear of daily use. It’s designed to handle everything from gentle family outings to more adventurous surf sessions with Dad and his friends. Just rinse it off after each use and keep it out of the sun while storing.
Lightweight & Easy to Carry: Despite its size, the FunWagon is surprisingly lightweight. I can carry it down to the beach on my head -or - delegate to the boys if I've just baked a loaf of sourdough and have decided I'm suddenly old-fashioned.
Super Fun Design: Let’s be honest—looks matter too! The FunWagon comes in a variety of fun colors that my whole family can enjoy. Our mixtape deck is so rad! It's full of our family's surf-isms that we know will bring joy to other families as well.
